The New Mexico Film Office announced Monday that Better Call Saul, the popular TV prequel to the wildly successful Breaking Bad, will begin principal photography for its fifth season later this month.

Better Call Saul, which airs on cable’s AMC network, follows ethically challenged Albuquerque lawyer Jimmy McGill in the years before he assumed the role of counsel and fixer, under the name “Saul Goodman,” for meth kingpin Walter White.

The Film Office says the production will employ about 375 New Mexico-based crew members, 200 local actors and 500 residents in background roles.
