No games scheduled. The playoffs continue Wednesday, June 7. The Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers take on the Western Conference champs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

With Friday’s 93-80 victory over New York, the Indiana Pacers advanced to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history and became the second former ABA team in as many years to compete for the NBA Championship. The Pacers won a record three ABA titles and have been in the Eastern Conference finals five of the past seven seasons.

Despite his sub-par performance in Game 6 of the Western Conference finals (17 points, 7-of-17 shooting), Shaquille O’Neal is still having a huge postseason, trying to lead his Los Angeles Lakers to their first NBA Finals appearance since the 1990-91 season. O’Neal is leading the league in playoff scoring (28.8 ppg), rebounding (15.4 rpg) and is third in field goal percentage (.546 pct).

``To represent the Eastern Conference in the finals, it’s a phenomenal feeling.″ _ Indiana guard Mark Jackson on the Pacers’ first trip to the NBA Finals.
