Kinzinger will be in Dixon to recognize Dallas
DIXON – The accolades keep coming for Mark Dallas, the school resource officer who saved lives by stopping a shooter May 16 at Dixon High School.
State Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Channahon, will be in Dixon Wednesday to give Dallas a copy of Kinzinger’s statement in the House praising the officer for his heroism. It was read into the Congressional Record on May 24.
The Congressional Record is a written account of all of the proceedings in both legislative chambers. At the end of each session of Congress, the daily records are bound and put into the permanent collection, which dates back to 1873.
The ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 121 W. Second St. in Dixon.
Kinzinger addressed the House on May 24, saying that Dallas’ swift and decisive actions demonstrate the difference between a job and one’s calling.
“Mr. Speaker, it is the men and women of our law enforcement, like Officer Dallas, who embody the very best of who we are as a nation. The courageous service of America’s finest is truly the thin blue line between order and chaos,” Kinzinger said.
