Anglers earn more than $4,000 catching Northern pike through August

Through August, the Colville Confederated Tribes had paid Northern pike anglers a total of $4,350 in reward money. Participants in the Northern Pike Rewards Program earn $10 per Northern pike head turned in.

While anglers removed 435 pike, Lake Roosevelt co-managers (Colville Tribes, Spokane Tribe of Indians and WDFW) have removed 1,600 Northern pike from the reservoir this year, according to a Colville Tribes news release.

In 2017 anglers turned in 1,095 northern pike heads as part of the Colville Tribes’ Fish and Wildlife northern pike reward program. Those anglers earned roughly $10,000, according to a December newsletter of the Colville Tribes Fish and Wildlife Department.

The maximum payout a single angler can earn is $590.
