Wife of Labor Minister Killed In Automobile Collision

BARI, Italy (AP) _ The 66-year-old wife of Labor Minister Salvatore Formica was killed Sunday in an automobile accident on a southern Italian road, the local news media reported.

RAI television and the ASNA news agency said Cordelia Ragone Formica was driving her car near her home in Rutigliano, on the Adriatic coast near Bari, and it collided headon with another car.

They reported Mrs. Formica was alone in her car and the six people traveling in the other auto were injured and hospitalized.

Authorities have not detmined the cause of the accident, according to the reports.

Formica, 60, a Socialist, has served in the Senate and Chamber of Deputies and held several Cabinet posts.
