Arrest made in stabbing death of Bradley man in Texas

January 6, 2019

ARLINGTON, Texas — A man has been charged in the April 2018 fatal stabbing of a Bradley man.

According to Arlington Police, 19-year-old Darian Watts is accused of stabbing Drew M. Jones, of Bradley, at an apartment complex on April 11, 2018.

An Arlington Police spokeswoman said they did not have a listed hometown for Watts.

Watts appeared in court on Dec. 20, according to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office.

The 25-year-old Jones graduated from Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School in 2011.

Jones was living with his mother, Jill D. Boswell, in Arlington at the time. She moved there in 2010. Boswell works as a nurse in an Arlington hospital.

Jones is the son of Glenn M. Jones Jr., of Bradley.

Drew Jones and his brother, Trenton, were at the apartment complex visiting a family they knew, according to Boswell.

Words were exchanged with another group that lived in the complex.

Police were called and after they left, things escalated and a fight broke out.

Drew Jones and Watts ran to the side of the building. Jones came back to the parking lot and collapsed. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Boswell said the knife nicked her son’s heart and he bled to death.
