Indoor Track and Field Going finishes career with third-place finish
Danbury senior Malcolm Going capped his final indoor track season with the Hatters by taking third place in the 800-meter run at New Balance nationals, a three-day meet held last weekend. Going clocked in with a 1:52.63, less than a second off the winning time of 1:51.91.
Going — who will attend American University — won the New England championship in the 600 with a time of 1:20.49.
The Hatters’ girls team also notched an impressive performance in breaking a school and FCIAC record by placing 10th at the 4x1-mile race. The quartet of Daniella Grullon-Pena, Stephanie Queiroz, Cassandra Sturdevant and Lauren Moore crossed the line in 21:30.19. Ridgefield finished just behind the Hatters in 11th place.
