Rescuers find body of man who drove into lake
PITTSBURG, New Hampshire (AP) — Rescue personnel say they have found the body of a 65-year-old man who went missing after driving into a lake.
New Hampshire Fish and Game Department rescue personnel say they recovered 65-year-old David Bonnett’s body from 3rd Connecticut Lake in Pittsburg Tuesday evening.
Fish and Game conservation officers say they received an alert by by mid-day Tuesday that a vehicle had gone into a lake near a boat launch. It’s unknown what led to Bonnett driving into the lake, and the department says the case doesn’t appear to involve drug and alcohol.
The crew recovered the man’s body just before 8 p.m. while scanning the water’s surface following hours of diving.
The department says Hooksett resident Bonnett was vacationing in Pittsburg.
A state medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.
