Boulder County is hosting a community meeting Thursday to provide an update on and seek public input regarding the Boulder County Land Use Code and how it relates to the Niwot Rural Community District.

The meeting runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Niwot High School cafeteria, 8989 Niwot Road. A presentation that begins at 6 p.m. will be followed by a question-and-answer session, according to a news release.

County officials will present a draft of proposed criteria for the land use code and gather community feedback to inform final revisions to the land use regulations on the Niwot Rural Community District.

Boulder County commissioners last year enacted a moratorium on the processing of any new development applications in the Niwot Rural Community District, which includes the row of businesses on Second Avenue in Niwot. The moratorium expires in March, and a public hearing on the matter is scheduled for later this month.

The current regulations date to the early 1990s and have not been substantially updated for almost a decade.
