Conway Earns CHC Award
WORCESTER -- Becker College freshman forward Clare Conway (Billerica) was named Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Rookie of the Week by the league Monday afternoon.
This past week, Conway helped the Hawks to a 3-3 draw with SUNY-Canton on Saturday. She scored one power-play goal and assisted the other two scores for Becker. The rookie also finished the week with a plus-2 rating.
This marks Conway’s third CHC Rookie of the Week award this season, as she earned the recognition on Oct. 28 and Jan. 27. The freshman finished the regular season with a team-leading 15 points on seven goals and eight assists.
TUSCON, Ariz. -- The UMass Lowell baseball team suffered a 20-5 defeat to Arizona in the series finale on Sunday afternoon.
For the second game in a row the River Hawks (0-4) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, this time behind a Steve Passatempo run-scoring single and a Cam Climo (Billerica) sacrifice fly.
“This was an extremely humbling weekend,” UML head coach Ken Harring said. “Arizona is the best team we have played in the Division I era. I thought we swung the bats well all weekend and played pretty well on defense. It is obvious that we need to get better on the mound, and we will.”
