December 6, 2018

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Police in Wyoming’s capital city have arrested a 78-year-old man for an apparent homicide.

Cheyenne police say officers responding to a report of shots fired Wednesday arrived at a home to find a man lying on the ground and a woman screaming for help.

Police say Charles S. Richmond approached an officer and said he was sorry.

Police said Thursday they suspect Richmond shot the other man during a fight. Police are withholding the victim’s identity pending family notification.

The Wyoming Tribune-Eagle reports it’s unclear whether Richmond has been charged. It’s not clear yet if Richmond has an attorney.
