Road projects throughout Norfolk continuing to make headway
NORFOLK - With numerous road projects going on throughout Norfolk you may be wondering when they’re going finish up. Assistant City Engineer Mike Middendorf has the answers.
Middendorf says the water main, sewer, and road project on 1st street south of Monroe Avenue was delayed a little bit because of the rain, but are still looking to have it all finished by October 1st.
He says there is also progress on a couple of future projects.
“We will be interviewing for the Benjamin Avenue project that will be coming up in 2020. Some design firms have submitted their qualifications to do that project so the interview process will begin in the next month or so. The Braasch Avenue project from 1st Street to 4th Street is currently in design and expected to be built next year.”
Middendorf says they will also start working on numerous overlay projects throughout town with the first one being Benjamin Avenue that will start Monday.
He says another project they will start and still get done by the end of this fall is gap paving on 15th street from Hayes Avenue to Park Avenue.
