Actor Allen Case Dead
TRUCKEE, Calif. (AP) _ Allen Case, a stage and screen actor who starred in the 1959 television western ″The Deputy,″ has died of heart failure at the age of 51.
The Dallas native won a talent contest on the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scout Show in New York and became a regular on the program, subsequently signing a recording contract with Columbia Records in 1955.
His stage credits include the lead role in ″Once Upon a Mattress″ in 1959 and parts in ″Reuben, Reuben,″ ″Pleasure Dome,″ ″Damn Yankees,″ and ″South Pacific.″
In addition to ″The Deputy,″ Case made guest appearances on western series such as ″Wagon Train″ and ″Gunsmoke.″
A funeral services for Case, who died Monday, is scheduled Friday at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas.
