Twelvepole Manor Haunted Attraction opens this weekend
WAYNE — “Are you brave enough to enter the Manor and come face to face with the Deadwood family? They’re waiting for you.”
Twelvepole Manor Haunted Attraction, located at 335 Hall St., will begin its second year in the Town of Wayne with a bang this weekend. The haunt will be open on Friday and Saturday nights in October with door opening at 8 p.m. each night. Tickets will be sold until midnight. The attraction will also be open during the same hours on Halloween night, Oct. 31.
Co-owner Travis Robinson said the haunt is a unique experience.
“Twelvepole Manor Haunted Attraction is an intense, in your face haunted attraction,” he said. “From smells to sounds and to animated effects, it aims to set fear to all your senses.”
The haunt takes place in an older house right in town and is 30 percent larger than last year’s version. It staffs local volunteers as well as the owners themselves who are itching to give you a scare.
Visitors last year raved about the authenticity of smells and the general ability of the actors to scare.
“This is one of the best scares I have had in a while,” Miranda Maynard said in 2017. “It isn’t just a house, It’s a house full of ready actors. And they are ready to give you just what you come for - a good scare! Plus, the props are so real and so good. You have to go see this!”
Mason Kelly, another visitor in 2017, echoed Maynard’s praise and compared the Wayne attraction those in bigger cities.
“I’m from Cincinnati and I’ve always gone to haunted houses, especially a popular one called Dent - I would go every year. But, Twelvepole Manor blew Dent out of the water,” she said. “This was the best house I’ve ever gone to. For a group of friends to pull this together, I’m amazed. You guys have true talent. Thank you for the scare!”
