Traffic stop on Hamilton Avenue leads to drug arrest

GREENWICH — The smell of burning marijuana was detected by a police officer who made a traffic stop Sunday night, one that resulted in an arrest.

Shaun Parry, 24, of West Putnam Ave., Greenwich, was pulled over on Hamilton Avenue for allegedly running a stop sign. The arrest report stated that an officer smelled marijuana, and officers said they later found a small packet of cocaine and one of marijuana in Parry’s possession.

He was charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance. Parry was also cited for running a stop sign and possession of marijuana. He was released without bail.
