Hiroshima widens lead in J-League to 5 points
TOKYO (AP) — Sanfrecce Hiroshima widened its lead in the J-League to five points by beating Vissel Kobe 4-0 on Wednesday.
Hisato Sato set up midfielder Douglas in the 15th minute, and scored himself 10 minutes later to move within two goals of equaling the league record of 157 held by Masashi Nakayama.
Gakuto Notsuda scored off a penalty pick just before the break, and Douglas earned his second goal, and 11th of the season, midway through the second half.
Hiroshima was five points ahead of Nagoya Grampus, Kawasaki Frontale and Kashima Antlers.
Nagoya, second on goal difference, beat Montedio Yamagata 3-0.
Kawasaki Frontale defeated Matsumoto Yamaga 3-1, and Kashima Antlers overpowered Sagan Tosu 3-0.
Ryochi Maeda scored twice as FC Tokyo bealt Vegalta Sendai 3-1.
Gamba Osaka was held to 2-2 by Albirex Niigata, and Urawa Reds settled for a point in a 1-1 draw with Ventforet Kofu.
Wataru Endo wrapped up a 3-0 win for Shonan Bellmare over Kashiwa Reysol, and Genki Omae scored twice as struggling Shimizu S-Pulse beat Yokohama F Marino 2-1.
