Community invited to rural internet expansion groundbreaking

RUSHFORD — A new project will expand broadband internet services in rural Fillmore and Winona counties.

Officials from rural technology co-op provider AcenTek, Fillmore County Economic Development and other local leaders plan to mark the event with a brief presentation at Rushford Village City Hall.

According to a release from Community and Economic Development Associates, the Rushford Village/Rural Rushford Fiber Build last mile project will serve currently unserved and underserved populations, affecting more than 500 households, 40 businesses and 2 community anchor institutions in the Rushford Village/Rural Rushford exchange.
