Baraboo Boys & Girls Club plans masquerade ball
At a charity fundraiser Friday, only the prizes -- not the disguised attendees -- will be unmasked.
The Boys & Girls Club’s 12th annual gala benefit will bring a masquerade ball to Baraboo Arts Banquet Hall. The event will feature a dinner, live and silent auctions, award presentations and a performance by the club’s Harmonix show choir. The evening will include an “Unmask your Adventure” trip raffle where the winner can choose one of three trips, as well as “Masked in Mystery” raffle awarding the winner a gift from Cell Plus.
“This year’s masquerade ball-themed gala promises to be the best one yet,” said event chair Trina McVicker. “We figure out how to improve on it every year.”
In addition to serving as the club’s chief fundraiser, the gala provides an opportunity to recognize volunteers and partners.
“While we take time at this event to celebrate the past year and what has been accomplished, we also come together to raise funds that set a strong foundation for what is yet to come,” said Karen DeSanto, the club’s executive director.
Auction items include spa certificates, jewelry, golf passes and experiences such as a cabin getaway and a home-cooked meal from Jose’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant. “The support we have from area businesses is phenomenal,” McVicker said.
Appetizers and dinner will be provided by Sysco Baraboo and Baraboo Burger Co. “Our program is always fun and fast-moving, leaving plenty of time for socializing,” McVicker said. “We really feel that we’ve planned the perfect night out.”
