Hearing in Pepperell Gun Case Postponed, New Court Date Set
AYER -- A Nashua man and Dracut woman facing charges in connection with the discovery of a cache of stolen guns at a Pepperell home will return to court next month after a hearing scheduled in their case for Friday was not held.
Wayne Shay, 36, of Nashua, and Sheri Napier, 36, of Dracut, were scheduled to appear in Ayer District Court Friday for a probable cause hearing, but the hearing was not held, according to a spokeswoman for the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
Napier and Shay are due to return to court on Feb. 8 for a pretrial hearing.
Both are being held on bail as they each face a slew of gun charges in connection with the discovery of 16 stolen guns, 17 high-capacity magazines, and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition in a home at 21 Townsend St., in Pepperell.
Police have said the discovery in Pepperell came as Nashua Police were investigating a “recent” theft of firearms from a home in their city. Shay and Napier are also wanted on warrants in New Hampshire.
