Kroger responds to Hurricane Florence’s aftermath

In response to the devastation from Hurricane Florence in North Carolina and South Carolina, Kroger has been working to deliver relief to those in need. Relief efforts included donations of money, water, food and other essentials needed by the first responders on the ground and the displaced members of the community.

In addition to a $50,000 grant to the American Red Cross from The Kroger Foundation, Kroger Mid-Atlantic announced it would add to the donation by dispatching four truckloads of bottled water. This donation of product and transportation is valued at $17,000.

As of this week, all coin boxes at the 107 Kroger stores in the Mid-Atlantic Division will be directed to the American Red Cross to support Hurricane Florence relief efforts.

Leading up to the storm’s arrival Kroger’s giving was focused on preparing communities for the impending storm by donating blankets for the homeless, providing bags of food for 911 emergency calls and shipping several pallets of water to a number of communities in the storm’s predicted path.

Additional relief efforts are currently underway for the day’s ahead.
