Man arrested for alleged Sunday assault
STEWARTVILLE – A 21-year-old man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly hit a woman in the face with a small table.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 400 block of Second Street Northwest about 11:50 p.m. Sunday, according to Capt. Scott Behrns. Sheriff’s deputies were told that everyone was fighting at the residence and that there was “complete chaos,” Behrns said.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with a 19-year-old woman who said Richard Morrison Jr. had gotten into an altercation with her parents, Behrns said.
Deputies allegedly found Morrison passed out, face down on the hood of a vehicle. A woman who lives at the residence had a broken nose and was bleeding, Behrns said.
A 19-year-old woman told deputies the incident began when she told Morrison she didn’t want him to drink anymore, Behrns said. Morrison allegedly became angry and a fight broke out between Morrison and the woman’s parents. At some point during the altercation, Morrison allegedly threw a small table at the woman’s mother – hitting her in the face, according to Behrns.
Morrison was arrested and had to be physically restrained both by deputies on scene as well as in an ambulance, Behrns said. Morrison was taken to an area hospital for extreme intoxication.
He could be facing charges of second-degree assault as well as disorderly conduct.
