January 26, 2019

KENT — Part of Route 7 in Kent is closed because of flooding Friday, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

Route 7 is closed south of Route 341 becuase of “water over the road,” the alert said. The closure was reported as of 5:21 p.m.

The flooding isn’t uncommon to the area, and even saw some flooding from the Housatonic River on Thursday, according to students from the Kent School.

Last January, ice jams from the Housatonic River caused extensive flooding around the school, closing it for more than a week.
