Norfolk Community Theatre set to present Steel Magnolias
NORFOLK - The cast and crew of the Norfolk Community Theatre are just about ready for the start of their first play of the season, Steel Magnolias.
The play is a comedy-drama that depicts events in the lives of a group of close-knit women from northern Louisiana who support each other through many life events.
Director of the play Tyler Wieseler says this is his first play to direct and when he was approached to direct it, it touched a cord in his heart.
“It was something I enjoyed as a kid watching with my mom. It was also a favorite movie of my aunt who passed away before auditions of the show. This has been a good way for me to remember her through the whole process. It’ll be great to open up the show and have it be a good tribute for her.”
Show dates will be October 4th through the 7th and 11th through the 13th with all shows starting at 7:30 except for the matinee on the 7th that will start at 2.
The play will take place at the Cox Activities Center Theatre on the campus of Northeast Community College.
