Poet to read at Blue Heron
Dan Dietrich will read from his first book of poetry, “Homestead,” at the Blue Heron Coffeehouse at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8. This reading is part of “First Tuesday,” the Laureate Writers Series, and is free and open to the public. The reading will be followed by an open mic open to anyone, veteran or novice. The theme for the open mic will be “Borders.”
Dietrich’s stories have received awards from St. Martin’s Press, the Outdoor Writers Association of America and the Minnesota Arts Board. He and his wife live in the Driftless Area of southeastern Minnesota. He is a devotee of Thoreau’s journals, wood heat and yellow labs. His poems have appeared in Poetry Celebration, Applause and Poet-Artist Collaboration. “Homestead” is his first collection.
