LOWELL -- Police are asking the public for help as they search for a missing 54-year-old woman.

Velma Steele was last seen around 4 p.m. on Jan. 23 near the Gallagher Intermodal Terminal at 101 Thorndike St., according to the Lowell Police Department.

She is about 5 feet, 6 inches and weights 320 pounds. She has short dark hair and brown eyes.
