LOS ANGELES (AP) — No change at the top of the box office rankings this week. But that may not be the case next week — as “How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” continues to hold on to the number one position. The third installment in the “Train Your Dragon” series took in an estimated $30 million this past weekend. And that brings its total so far to just shy of $100 million. Hot on “Dragon’s” tail is the final installment of the “Madea” franchise. Tyler Perry’s “A Madea Family Funeral” had a strong debut, taking in an estimated $27 million. That’s the third best for the 15-year-old movie series. A lot of its success comes from the largely female audience that backed the Madea finale.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Call it a victory lap for “Green Book.” The movie that won the Oscar for best picture a week ago saw its image — and box office receipts — rise in the past week. Over the weekend, “Green Book” added $4.7 million to its box office total, which is now $31.9 million internationally. The weekend numbers were good for fifth place behind “How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World,” ″A Madea Family Funeral,” ″Alita: Battle Angel” and “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.”

NANTUCKET, Mass. (AP) — He isn’t expected to be there in person. But attorneys for Kevin Spacey are due in court in Massachusetts today for a pretrial hearing for the disgraced actor charged with groping an 18-year-old at a bar in 2016. The judge handling the hearing in Nantucket District Court says while Spacey isn’t required to attend, he must be near a phone in case he’s needed. The former “House of Cards” star pleaded not guilty in January to felony indecent assault and battery. His lawyers call the accusations “patently false.” It’s the first criminal case brought against Spacey after several sexual misconduct allegations torpedoed his career in 2017.

LONDON (AP) — Actor Ian McKellen has been drawing heat for comments he made about sexual abuse allegations against Kevin Spacey and Bryan Singer. In a live podcast over the weekend, he suggested the abuse happened because the two men are uneasy about their sexuality. McKellen has now tweeted that his comments were “clumsily expressed.” He says it’s wrong for him — or anyone — to hint that being closeted is related in any way to abuse. McKellen says he’s sorry and didn’t mean to “trivialize or condone abuse of any kind.”

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife. In the lawsuit, filed in Virginia, Depp has hit Amber Heard with a $50 million defamation lawsuit. The suit involves a piece Heard wrote for The Washington Post about domestic abuse. In the suit, Depp says that while the Post article didn’t mention him by name, it was clear Heard was talking about him and Depp says the allegations of domestic abuse are “categorically and demonstrably false.” The suit also claims Depp has suffered losses because of the accusations, including being dropped from his role in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” films.

Heard first accused Depp of domestic violence in May 2016, the year after they were married.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Khloe Kardashian is apparently out of the “woods” — at least when it comes to assigning blame for the breakup of her family. She’s stopped calling Jordyn Woods a home-wrecker for being with Tristan Thompson — and now is affixing the blame to the NBA player and father of her baby. The evolution unfolded on Twitter over the weekend. The barrage of tweets began after Woods told Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook Watch show Thompson kissed her on the lips after she spent a night at his home — and she was surprised by the move. She insists nothing else happened. In the first of the tweets, Kardashian said Woods was untruthful — and should have called her privately to apologize before going public with her account.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Actress Katherine Helmond has died. She will be best known for playing two very different mother figures on TV. She was on the ABC sitcoms “Who’s The Boss” and “Soap.” She had a recurring role on “Everybody Loves Raymond” as the mother-in-law to Ray Romano’s character. Her talent agency reported Helmond died of complications from Alzheimer’s disease last Saturday. Her death was announced this past Friday. Katherine Helmond was 89.

UNDATED (AP) — Remember Rollo — from “Sanford and Son?” The actor who played the best friend of the “Son” in the series has died. Nathaniel Taylor is best known for playing Rollo Lawson — the pal of Demond Wilson’s character on the 1970s sitcom. Rollo was often the target of Red Foxx’ character Fred Sanford’s ire — because he thought him a bad influence on his son because he did prison time. Rollo would also irk Sanford by calling him “Pops.” His son says Taylor died Wednesday at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles after a heart attack. He was 80 years old.

NEW YORK (AP) — In the end, it might turn out to be more significant when it comes to the Trump presidency. But the numbers indicate fewer people watched President Trump’s former personal lawyer testify at a congressional hearing — than watched the one for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh last September. Nielsen reports the Cohen hearing drew 15.8 million viewers Wednesday. That’s lower than the 20.4 million who watched Kavanaugh’s testimony. Fans of Fox News were the big difference. More of them watched the Kavanaugh hearing than listened to Cohen, who ripped Trump as a racist, con man and cheat.
