How they got here: District 2 champion Holy Redeemer beat North-Penn Liberty, 3-1, in the first round; and eliminated New Hope-Solebury, 3-1, in the quarterfinals. District 3 champion Delone Catholic defeated Central Cambria, 3-1; and Panther Valley, 3-0.
Moving on: Winner advances to play in Saturday’s state championship game at 1 p.m. at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg. It will play District 7 four-seed Freeport or District 6 champion Bald Eagle. Loser is eliminated.

Scouting report: Few things in local sports are as reliable as head coach Jack Kablick’s Holy Redeemer Royals playing into November. Winners of 12 straight district championships, the Royals are now knocking on the door of their best playoff run yet. ... After losing in the quarterfinals last year, this is Redeemer’s second trip to the state semifinals in the last three years. In 2016, Redeemer lost in four sets to North Star at this stage. ... Holy Redeemer senior Skylar Osenkarski had a team-high 197 kills in the regular season, according to girlsvb.com. Junior Liv Moore’s 24 blocks, 218 service points and 20 aces were all team-bests, while senior Korren Hicks set the pace with 439 assists. Julia Andrejko led the way with 56 digs. ... In its quarterfinal win, Delone Catholic was led by Maddie Clabaugh, who had 12 kills; Brooke Lawyer added seven kills and Emily Miller six kills. ... Last year, Delone Catholic beat Holy Redeemer, 3-0, in the quarterfinals and went on to finish runner-up in the state.
