Chef Kent Rathbun Named as Chef Ambassador with Lane & McClain Distributors

November 27, 2018

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov 27, 2018--, a commercial restaurant equipment distributor serving Texas and Oklahoma, announced that noted celebrity chef Kent Rathbun has signed on as the Chef Ambassador for its line of Lainox combination ovens and Taylor batch ice cream freezers.

A prolific restaurateur, Chef Rathbun recently opened Imoto, an upscale Asian restaurant in Victory Park where he installed a Lainox Compact Oven and a Taylor Batch Freezer.

“As restaurateurs, we must balance quality and creativity with a business mindset on operations and profit,” said Chef Rathbun. “The Lainox combination oven is a perfect solution for Imoto. With it I’m able to offer a broader range of cooking styles and concurrent entrée cooking while reducing my kitchen footprint and power needs with one device. And adding the Taylor small-batch freezer has allowed us to share seasonal flavors and increase the percentage of our patrons selecting a light, sweet ending to their meals.”

In his role as ambassador, Chef Rathbun will host seasonal chef-driven events at his restaurant and the Lane & McClain test kitchen; debut original recipes with online demonstrations; and provide tips during the year on how restaurateurs can capitalize on trends, reduce operating costs and increase revenue using combination ovens and batch freezers in the kitchen. Chefs and restaurant owners interested in being notified of the events or wishing to secure a personal demonstration of the devices may contact Adrian Tenorio at 214-748-7669.

“Chef Rathbun’s name is synonymous with quality and innovation. We are thrilled that he decided to partner with Lane & McClain and our Lainox and Taylor brands. We’re eager to see – and taste – his original recipes using the equipment,” noted Alan Rubin, president of Lane & McClain Distributors. “An added bonus for our industry customers is the insights he’ll share on the business side, having worked in and launched restaurants for more than 40 years.”

Lainox’s high-technology combination ovens provide chefs with a single piece of equipment that performs as the “Swiss Army knife” of a kitchen. The Italian-brand combination ovens allow:

Versatility with 3-in-1 cooking with steam, convection or combination formats; Accuracy to execute and monitor the selected recipe instantly for perfect cooking; Flexibility to cook various dishes with different cooking times simultaneously and with the ability to control and monitor the oven remotely via cloud-based technology; Savings to reduce equipment, square footage and energy needs in the kitchen and to reduce food costs with less shrinkage and waste due to overcooking; and Inspiration with access to a chef’s library of recipes from around the world.

Renowned for its soft-serve, frozen cocktail machines, and their clam-shell two-sided cooking grill, the Taylor brand offers a full array of kitchen and beverage equipment. For a sweet ending to a meal and a profit center for a restaurant, the Taylor brand commercial ice cream and custard batch freezers offer flexibility to introduce gourmet frozen desserts that average profit margins of 70% or greater.
