Trial ordered for fatal motorcycle crash defendant
CHILTON, Wis. (AP) — A motorcyclist accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a passenger and injured a boy on a bicycle has been ordered to stand trial in Calumet County.
WLUK-TV reports 22-year-old Codi Miller is facing seven charges, including intoxicated use of a motor vehicle in the August 19th crash that killed 53-year-old Kim Anderson at an intersection in Harrison. A 13-year-old bicyclist, Henry Schinke, was seriously injured.
Miller told police he swerved to miss the boy, but the motorcycle crashed throwing him and Anderson to the street.
Authorities say Miller’s blood alcohol concentration was .21. He has three prior drunken driving convictions.
An arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 24th.
