Authorities identify 2 fatally shot in SUV in Paterson
PATERSON, N.J. (AP) — Authorities have released the names of two people who were shot and killed while they sat in a parked SUV in northern New Jersey.
Passaic County prosecutors say 48-year-old Daryl Tann and 33-year-old Nykeema Kersey, both of Paterson, were killed in Sunday night’s shooting in Paterson.
Authorities say the shooter opened fire on the vehicle and then fled the scene on foot, while the SUV’s driver drove away for a short distance before the vehicle came to a stop.
Two other people in the SUV were injured.
Authorities say 32-year-old Latoya Lesane remained hospitalized Thursday in critical condition, while 30-year-old Jason Parker was treated for an injury that’s not considered life-threatening.
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
