FREEPORT, N.Y. (AP) — Officials say a car jumped a curb and hit four people on Long Island, two of them children.

Nassau County police say a man is under arrest after the crash that happened around 4 p.m. Monday on West Merrick Road in Freeport.

Mayor Robert Kennedy tells Newsday that an 11-year-old boy was flown to a hospital with head trauma, while a 9-year-old girl and her parents were taken to a different hospital.

Police say none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
