3 hospitalized after armed home invasion in Bedford
BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — Police say three men have been hospitalized, one with a gunshot wound, after an armed home invasion in Bedford.
Chief Robert Bongiorno says at about 2 a.m. Wednesday three men broke into an apartment above an appliance store apparently looking for drugs.
One resident was shot in the leg while the other two were assaulted.
The chief says the shot man was bleeding profusely, and quick work by firefighters to stem the bleeding may have saved his life. The victims, in their 20s, are expected to survive.
He says the victims and at least one of suspects knew each other and there is no danger to the public.
No names were released and there have been no arrests.
Bongiorno says it was the first shooting in town in about a decade.
