HubSpot: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) _ HubSpot Inc. (HUBS) on Wednesday reported a loss of $18.7 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 48 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and non-recurring costs, came to 17 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 5 cents per share.

The cloud-based marketing and sales software platform posted revenue of $131.8 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Ten analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $126.9 million.

For the current quarter ending in December, HubSpot expects its per-share earnings to range from 29 cents to 31 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $136.5 million to $137.5 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.

HubSpot expects full-year earnings in the range of 80 cents to 82 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $505.5 million to $506.5 million.

HubSpot shares have increased 63 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $143.97, an increase of 74 percent in the last 12 months.
