AIR FORCE BASE-SECURITY

CINCINNATI _ Air Force officials say an injured jogger screaming in pain while training exercises were going on began a series of miscommunications that led to a chaotic “active shooter” alert at an Ohio air base near Dayton. A report released Wednesday says the injury during training scenarios that included an active shooter response at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base resulted in a mistaken call of a ’real world active shooter event,” a base lockdown, and a sweeping emergency response. MICHIGAN PIPELINE:

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. _ A recently established state panel could give final approval to a proposed oil pipeline tunnel beneath a crucial section of the Great Lakes. The Mackinac Straits Corridor Authority is scheduled to meet for the first time Wednesday in St. Ignace, Michigan. SENT: 130 words, photos. TRAPPED STUDENT DEATH

CINCINNATI _ Federal regulators received nearly 180 seating complaints about Honda Odyssey minivans over the years, according to a newspaper’s investigation after a teenage Ohio boy died trapped in one such van. A coroner said 16-year-old Kyle Plush, of Cincinnati, died April 10 of asphyxiation because his chest was being compressed. It’s suspected the minivan’s rear seat flipped over and pinned him as he reached into the back. SENT: 500 words.

_ ESCAPED INMATE-HOT TUB: An escaped inmate is back in custody in Waverly after being found soaking in a hot tub at an Ohio senior living community, still wearing her yellow jail outfit.

_ DEATH PENALTY-OHIO: The Ohio Supreme Court has set an execution date nearly five years in the future for an inmate sentenced to die in the slayings of fellow inmates during a 1993 prison riot at a prison in Lucasville.

_ SHOES FOR KILLER: The Ohio Supreme Court has rejected arguments on behalf of a death row inmate who wanted his court-ordered payments adjusted, saying he’s so poor he can’t afford new shoes or boots.

_ MISSING WOMAN-BODY FOUND: Authorities say skeletal remains found in Moraine in September have been identified as those of a woman missing since 2017.

_ ELECTION 2018-OHIO GOVERNOR: Campaign finance filings show this year’s campaign for Ohio governor was the most expensive gubernatorial race in state history.
