Award winners named during Maple Queen Pageant

Grace Oakes, of Garrett, won the title of Queen Maple LXXII Saturday night in the annual Pennsylvania Maple Queen Scholarship Pageant.

She is a senior at Meyersdale Area High School.

The Anna Ruth Thomas Talent Award was also won by Oakes, who was voted Miss Congeniality by the queen’s court of princesses.

Capturing the first maid of honor title and the Nancy Beamer Interview Award was Kasie Campbell, also of Meyersdale Area High School.

The second maid of honor was Bryia Swick, Meyersdale Area High School.

Winning the Maple Wisdom Award was Julee Frazee of Turkeyfoot Valley Area High School.

The Promenade Award went to Nadia Minnick of Meyersdale Area High School.

The queen and her court will reign over the 72nd annual Pennsylvania Maple Festival in Meyersdale March 30-31 and April 3-7.
