SYDNEY (AP) — Australian media is reporting that Wallabies utility back Kurtley Beale is under investigation following a heated verbal exchange with an official during the trip from South Africa to Argentina for a Rugby Championship test this weekend.

The Australian newspaper quoted coach Ewen McKenzie as saying "a number of people were involved" but reported that Beale and a female staffer were the main protagonists. Beale remains with the team preparing for Saturday's test match in Argentina, while the official has returned to Australia.

The argument reportedly occurred on a flight from Johannesburg to Sao Paulo, Brazil, the morning after Australia lost to South Africa last weekend.

McKenzie said it upset "rhythm and routine" for match preparations and had referred the matter to the ARU's integrity unit for investigation.
