Acquitted in 2008 deaths, jailed again on drug charges
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — A man acquitted in the 2008 slayings of a family of four in Alabama is in jail again on drug and gun charges — his latest arrest since his trial in the family killing.
Al.com reported Friday that 29-year Shaunasty Lowe of Bessemer was arrested earlier in August and faces charges including trafficking heroin and illegally possessing a firearm.
Lowe had been released from prison in April. He has faced arrest multiple times since he was found not guilty of the quadruple killings at a 2010 trial. His record includes a conviction on a firearm charge in 2011; a 2011 probation revocation from a 2008 drug case; and a 2014 guilty plea to first-degree assault and second-degree robbery after a shooting incident in 2013.
