ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) _ Minor leaguer Greg Norton doubled in two runs in the 11th inning and the Chicago White Sox homered three time Thursday in an 8-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

Harold Baines and Mike Devereaux had solo home runs for the Orioles. Frank Thomas, Warren Newson and Ron Karkovice homered for the White Sox, who have 36 homers in 31 spring training games.

Down 6-4, Chicago got a solo homer from Karkovice in the seventh and a run- scoring single from Dan Pasqua in the eighth. Norton, brought up to fill out the Chicago roster for the game, capped the comeback with a double off Mark Eichhorn in the 11th.

Chicago starter Alex Fernandez gave up six runs and six hits in five innings. He walked four and hit a batter.

Baltimore scored four unearned runs in the second for a 4-1 lead. After a throwing error by shortstop Ozzie Guillen, Jeffrey Hammonds hit a two-run single and Brady Anderson had a two-run double. Baines’ team-high fourth homer in the third made it 5-1 before Chicago scored three in the fourth off Mike Oquist on a solo homer by Thomas and a two-run drive by Newson.

Devereaux homered opening the fifth for a 6-4 lead.
