Pedestrian reportedly hit by car in Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT — City firefighters have requested police to redirect traffic in the area where a pedestrian was reportedly hit by a car Friday morning.
Dispatch reported indicated that fire units were sent to the intersection of John Street and Park Avenue around 6:30 a.m. for a report of a person hit by a vehicle. Emergency medical services arrived on scene ar 6:33 a.m., dispatch reports indicated.
Police were called shortly after EMS arrived to redirect traffic in the area after one firefighter on scene said cars were starting to get backed up.
There was no immediate word on the condition of the victim.
Shortly before 7 a.m., police announced the closure of John Street between Fairfield and West avenues as they worked to investigate the crash.
