Darr Road bridges open
The Darr Road bridges over the Lincoln River in Sherman Township will be open to all traffic beginning today, according to a press release from the Mason County Road Commission.
The bridges are located on North Darr Road between Sugar Grove Road and Mavis Road.
The bridge over the South Branch of the Lincoln River was closed on June 11. The bridge over the North Branch of the the river had been closed for several years and was removed by the contractor in July, said Eric Nelson, Mason County highway engineer, in the press release.
Nelson said that although the bridges will be open, more work remains to be done on the $786,000 project.
“There are still a few miscellaneous items of work that need to be completed including final restoration,” he said.
The project is funded by the Michigan Department of Transportation and the Mason County Road Commission.
