AutoZone: Fiscal 4Q Earnings Snapshot
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) _ AutoZone Inc. (AZO) on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $400.3 million.
On a per-share basis, the Memphis, Tennessee-based company said it had net income of $15.02. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $18.54 per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $17.88 per share.
The auto parts retailer posted revenue of $3.56 billion in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.59 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $1.34 billion, or $48.77 per share. Revenue was reported as $11.22 billion.
AutoZone shares have risen 5 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed 8 percent. The stock has increased 31 percent in the last 12 months.
