2 charged in death of robbery accomplice in Kansas City

June 5, 2019

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A man and woman from Kansas City have been charged in an attempted robbery in which an accomplice was killed.

Twenty-one-year-old Anthony Blackmon and 20-year-old Daeshafaun Jackson-Bey were charged Tuesday with seven felonies, including second-degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Joshua Jackson. The intended victim told police he agreed to pay Jackson-Bey $50 for sex. Court records say two armed men then confronted him last month when he met her at an east Kansas City home.

Jackson was killed in an exchange of gunfire. The would-be victim was wounded but managed to get away. He drove a short distance to a Dollar General store and called 911.

Blackmon is jailed on $50,000 bond and Jackson-Bey on $25,000 bond. No attorneys are listed for them in online court records.
