TOULOUSE, France (AP) _ Oded Katash scored his team's last seven points, including the winning jumper with 1.4 seconds to play, to lead Israel to a 64-62 victory over Macedonia on Wednesday in the European Basketball Championships.

Katash, a 6-foot-4 guard, turned down a chance to sign with the Knicks last January.

Advancing to the second round with Israel were Croatia, Germany and Slovenia.

Croatia, upset by Turkey Tuesday, rebounded to beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 65-59 behind Toni Kukoc's 11 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists; Slovenia defeated Hungary 72-66 and Germany beat the Czech Republic 77-68 led by 23 points from Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks.
