Real Betis replaces president facing drop
SEVILLA, Spain (AP) — Real Betis has named Manuel Dominguez as its new president after Miguel Guillen stepped down.
Dominguez was named as Guillen’s successor hours after he announced his resignation at Saturday’s shareholder meeting.
Guillen took over the Andalusian club in 2011. He says “there are a number of groups that are asking for me to leave, and that is what I am doing.”
Betis is in last place in the Spanish league, seven points from safety with eight games to play.
