Police: 60-year-old man assaulted in Trumbull
TRUMBULL — Police are seeking information on the assault of a 60-year-old Trumbull man, who was reportedly attacked by three unidentified assailants while walking through Twin Brooks Park Saturday afternoon.
Police said the victim reported that, as he was walking along the sidewalk on Twin Brooks Drive toward the wooded area of the park at about 2 p.m., an older gray-colored car with a large rear spoiler drove past him.
A short time later, police said, the vehicle drove back toward him and stopped. According to police, a male about 18 to 22 years old, got out of the car and approached the victim. Without saying a word, the male punched the victim in the head, knocking him to the ground. Two other young males reportedly exited the vehicle and began kicking the victim as he lay on the ground, all the while demanding money. The victim told them he did not have money with him and they pushed him into the road before they drove off toward Franklin Street.
The victim was able to get a partial license plate for the car as it drove off.
