WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Sophomore guard Terrance Flowers scored a career-high 24 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had five assists to lead Wichita State to a 75-51 victory over Kansas State in front of a near-sellout crowd Tuesday.

Wichita State (8-1) won its seventh straight, while Kansas State (9-3) snapped a seven-game winning streak. The Wildcats’ point total was the lowest since their 79-48 season-opening loss at Alabama.

Tyrone Davis led the Wildcats with 19 points, while Flowers held Kansas State’s leading scorer, Elliot Hatcher, to nine points _ his lowest since the Alabama game, when he scored seven points.

A 3-pointer by Flowers put Wichita State up by six points in the first half, which ended with the Shockers ahead 33-27. Early in the second half Wichita State ran off 10 straight points, finished by another Flowers 3-pointer, to widen the lead to 45-29.

Kansas State responded with a 6-0 run, including four points by Mark Young, that cut the deficit to 45-35. But the Wildcats could get no closer, thanks partly to Wichita State’s 43-31 rebounding edge.

Jamie Arnold added 16 points and Darin Miller 12, including 10 in the first half, for the Shockers.
