Sheriff: Woman is 3rd arrested in man’s death during fight
SLIDELL, La. (AP) — Authorities say they have arrested another person in the death of a man who was killed during a fight near a Louisiana river.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office tells news outlets in a statement that 20-year-old Blaine Manalle was charged with second-degree murder and jailed on Monday. Sheriff Randy Smith says she is third person to be arrested in the death of 46-year-old Jeffery Howell.
The sheriff’s office says 21-year-old Cameron Alphonso and 22-year-old Alden Kindergran were jailed Saturday.
Alphonso’s initial manslaughter charge was upgraded to second-degree murder Monday. An autopsy found Howell died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Kindergran was arrested on a disturbing the peace charge and released Sunday after posting a $750 bond.
It is unclear if anyone accused has a lawyer.
