Cops: Bridgeport man stole car parked in home’s garage

September 25, 2018

A Bridgeport man has been arrested by North Haven police in the theft of a car parked inside a garage.

On Monday, police arrested Francis Tarik, 24, of Bridgeport, on charges of first-degree larceny and second-degree burglary.

North Haven police said the arrest stems from the recent theft of Acura MDX stolen from a garage on Russell Road.

The car owner “reported the keys were in the vehicle, but his garage door was closed prior to the theft,” police said.

The vehicle was located one day later in New Haven.

Detectives identified the suspect as Tarik and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

He was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court and held on a $50,000 bond.
