Lake County boil-water alert has been lifted

The Lake County Department of Utilities has lifted the boil-water alert for portions of Willoughy, Willouhhby Hills, and Wickliffe.

Normal use of water may resume, the department said.

The boil alert was issued late Wednesday because of a pump malfunction at the water tower at routes 91 and 84, or SOM Center Road and Ridge Road.

The utilities department said the alert was only precautionary because it had detected no positive samples or contamination. The alert was lifted before midnight Thursday after final test results were in.
