Culvert repairs in Kentucky will lead to road closures
ASHLAND - Culvert replacement projects in Boyd, Greenup and Carter counties will lead to road closures in the next few days, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
A section of Roberts Drive in Ashland will be closed next week as part of a culvert replacement project, according to a news release from Kentucky Department of Highways District 9.
State highway crews will temporarily close the Kentucky 1134 portion of Roberts Drive between Winslow Road at Rose Hill and Donta Road (Kentucky 766).
The work is scheduled to start Wednesday Aug. 8, closing a section of Roberts Drive at milepost 0.4 where it crosses Little Hoods Creek, 0.2 of a mile west of Rose Hill Christian School. The work is expected to take about a week, according to the release.
Motorists can access Donta Road using Bob McCullough Drive and Roberts Drive.
Meanwhile weather delays have forced the continued closure of Kentucky 784 (Schutz Road) in Greenup County as part of a culvert replacement project.
The road remains closed at mile marker 31 near the old Howards grocery store, 2.5 miles north of the AA Highway. It will remain closed this weekend, according to the release. The closure also will last through Monday, Aug. 6, and possibly longer.
Another road project call for state highway crews to temporarily close part of Kentucky 1910 next week near Grayson, Kentucky, to replace two culverts.
Starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, the state road will close at mile marker 1.7 near the Interstate 64 underpass. The road will reopen about 3 p.m. Tuesday and then close again from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8.
